Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras, while visiting the island of Samos on Friday, toured the market of Vathy and talked with shopowners and consumers regarding the explosive price increases and the dramatic reduction in salaries and turnover, as well as skyrocketing energy costs and the impasses facing small and medium-sized enterprises.

“We are the country with the highest electricity rates, the highest prices in fuel, the highest inflation but the lowest income,” Tsipras said, adding that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis should understand that the society cannot continue in this way any longer.

So, Tsipras said, “instead of further burdening the retired, entrepreneurs and employees, he must understand that it’s time for him to go. The time has come, before the damage becomes irreversible for Greek society.”
