“Terrified before the anger and indignation of the society, (Prime Minister Kyriakos) Mitsotakis is trying to take some measures in an effort to rescue what could be rescued, if something can be rescued,” SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras said on Thursday from Kavala.
Tsipras called on the prime minister to appeal to the verdict of the people and urged the citizens to take part in the SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance internal process on Sunday 15 May in order to send a strong message of change.
“After nine months during which Mitsotakis with his policy, has left uncontrolled the profiteering in the energy sector and has looted households and businesses, today, frightened in the face of the rage and indignation of the Greek society, he is trying to take some measures in an effort to rescue what could be rescued, if it can be rescued,” Tsipras said during his tour in the centre of the northern Greek city of Kavala.
“For us, any measures, even those that come too late, are welcome. Even more welcomed is a decision he must take: The recourse to the popular verdict,” he underlined.
