The current situation in Ukraine is the most serious challenge for the international rule of law in the 21st century, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said upon his arrival for the extraordinary meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Brussels on Friday.

Specifically, Dendias noted: “Greece, as a [matter of] principle, is always for the international rule of law. And of course, the present situation in Ukraine presents the gravest challenge to the rule of International Law in the 21st century.

“In today’s discussion in NATO, we have to address this challenge, in a very appropriate manner, with full unity and with full conformity with International Law.

“Apart from this, as you know, Greece has a substantial minority of 150,000 people around Mariupol in Ukraine. We care about those people.  As we speak, “ Nostos 3” is happening, our third evacuation operation. We care and we pray for our compatriots.”
