The heads of two marble statues of women dating back to the Roman era were found in an apartment in the centre of Thessaloniki, which had been recently bought by a 35-year-old man.

Specifially, the two heads and a plethora of related documents were found carefully hidden by the new owner.

According to an archaeologist at the City of Thessaloniki Antiquities Ephorate, the items are protected under the law for the protection of antiquities and cultural heritage.
