The supply of natural gas to Greece continues without any disruption, while the domestic reserves (lignite coal, hydroelectric, diesel power generation, liquefied natural gas reserves in Revythousa) can meet the demand in the case of supply crisis, a meeting of the Crisis Management Team at the environment and energy ministry, chaired by Environment and Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas, concluded on Friday.

“At the meeting we evaluated the new situation as it unfolds after the Russian forces’ invasion of Ukraine and examined all scenarios – even the most adverse – as regards the adequacy of our country’s supply of gas and electricity,” Skrekas said.

“Unfortunately, Russia’s attack on Ukraine is fueling a severe international energy crisis that has pushed gas and electricity prices to unimaginable levels, threatening households and businesses. We have repeatedly stated that we will continue to support society for as long as it takes,” Skrekas underlined.
