“We will do everything in our power to open the schools safely on January 10,” government spokesman Yiannis Economou said on Thursday in an interview with ANT1 TV.

According to Economou, the government is monitoring the every day situation, adding that everyone is on alert. He did not rule out the modification of the protocols if this is suggested by the experts.

Referring to those affected by the pandemic, he said that the government will not leave anyone alone.

Economou said that the fatigue – because the pandemic has lasted for about two years – has created anger for different things.

“It is perfectly normal. There is no decision to deal with the pandemic that is enjoyable after two years. It is not just here, it is all over the world. Hundreds of thousands of cases in France, tens of thousands in Portugal, Germany, everywhere.”

“When things change so rapidly, you need to adapt quickly, even the next day,” he underlined.
