“Today we are topping 3,000,000 vaccinations,” Deputy Digital Governance Minister Giorgos Georgantas said in a radio interview with state broadcaster ERT on Wednesday.

“Our young people have responded and booked 200,000 appointments on the first day that the platform opened. It is significant that the more educated generation of the country over the years shows faith in scientific knowledge and sends a message of responsibility to the social whole,” he said.

The minister, whose portfolio concerns the simplification of administrative procedures, noted that the daily rate of vaccinations is steadily increasing and will become even faster after May 5, when more vaccination centres will go into operation, so that there are 1,500 in total.

He said there was a good flow of vaccines to the country and the available doses are increasing, while the one-shot Johnson vaccine will soon be added to the mix, with 1.3 million doses expected between May and June.
