Central African Republic rebels attack the capital Bangui




epaselect epa08934880 Central Africans look at the body of an alleged rebel fighter on the ground during a respite from fighting where at approximately 6 am a couple hundred rebel fighters attacked and faced Central African Forces and the UN MINUSCA in the capital Bangui at the North entrance of pk12, the Central African Republic, 13 January 2021. According to Prime Minister Firmin Ngrebada rebel attackers came in large numbers to take Bangui but were pushed back. The fighting comes in the wake of the disputed 27 December election where rebel groups have launched attacks on towns outside Bangui and now launched an attack on the capital.
