Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis began the presentation of the government’s policy for the alleviation of economic and social strains brought on by the coronavirus pandemic crisis, in view, as he said, of putting Greece on a growth trajectory, during his speech at the Thessaloniki Helexpo Forum on Saturday.

Several announcements for the relief of those affected by the health and economic crisis and the support of the middle class are expected, while announcements for the strengthening of national defense, both in terms of armaments and staff reinforcement, will be clarified during the Greek Premier’s presentation, as will a set of 12 major reforms that will unfold over the next 12 months, say sources.

“Our program of actions has a underlying motto: Confidence,” said Mitsotakis and continued: “Confidence in defense, in health systems and in the economy.”

“The crisis cannot become an alibi for stalling the implementation of great changes,” he added, and went on to announce twelve immediate action measures for the economy, and also made announcements on strengthening national defence.
