More than 10,000 citizens have submitted applications to municipalities to have their property inspected for damages, after the 5.1 Richter scale earthquake that struck the capital Athens on July 19, was reported on Saturday.
Most damaged properties are located in Western Attica and municipalities of Piraeus.
Due to the large number of inspection requests, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Attica Region as well as municipalities are employing several teams of engineers, who have so far completed inspections in some 2,000 public buildings, including all hospitals in Athens.
