5th Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum: Cruises are one of the main pillars of Greek tourism and growth

“Cruises are becoming a more and more popular way of taking holidays, something that leads to a significant rise in the number of cruiseships introduced to the market to satisfy the increasing demand worldwide,” said Tourism Minister Thanassis Theocharopoulos speaking at the 5th “Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum” on Wednesday in Athens.

  • The minister said that for Greece, cruised are one of the most crucial pillars of Greek tourism, which is a very important sector for the country’s growth.

Theocharopoulos said that the promotion of the port of Piraeus and the establishment of the port of Heraklion (Crete) as home ports, the improvement and enhancement of port infrastructure and marinas pave the way for their development, improvement and their investment exploitation.
