Tourist arrivals in Greek airports climbed up to 29% in November 2018, InSETE says

Tourist arrivals in Greek airports jumped 29% in November 2018, InSETE , a non-profit organisation founded in early 2013, on the initiative of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), said in a report.

The report said that arrivals in Greek airports was up 12.7 pct in the January-November period, with international arrivals in the Athens International Airport rising 27.5 pct and arrivals in regional airports up 32.8 pct in November, for increases of 19.3 pct and 10.5 pct in the 11-month period, respectively.

On the other hand, international road arrivals fell 7.2 pct in November, for a decline of 2.4 pct in the January-November period. InSETE said that in November, the main reservations market for Greece was Germany, followed by UK and Italian, the US and French market. The report also noted that Greek hotel prices, despite moving higher, remained at competitive levels in comparison with hotel prices in other foreign destinations, with the exception of Mykonos and Santorini. The main tourist destinations in Greece were Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and Thessaloniki.
