First parliament plenary session on Constitutional revision: Party leaders will address the lawmakers

A discussion before the parliament plenum on Wednesday will initiate the process for the revision of the Constitution.
The session is expected to begin at 11:00. According to the decision of the Conference of Parliament Presidents, 15 speakers will address the parliament on Wednesday, divided according to each party’s parliamentary power. The procedure will be completed in one round and speakers will not have the right to make a second speech.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and the leaders of the parliamentary parties will address the lawmakers after the speakers have concluded, in the afternoon.
The president of parliament Nikos Voutsis has already recommended that the responsible committee should complete its work within two months so that the procedure is concluded by the end of February.
