“The draft state budget is starting to clash with reality,” New Democracy (ND) shadow finance minister Christos Staikouras said on Thursday, adding that the “SYRIZA-Independent Greeks government is totally incapable of achieving the strengthening of liquidity in the real economy”.

He said that “due to the governments inefficiency, the full resolution of arrears of the public sector that should have been settled with the end of the programme, is constantly postoponed. It is certain that the full payment of the arrears will be based exclusively on the excessive primary surpluses and over-taxation.”
