“This is the first budget in 8 years toinclude social state measures”, says Xenogiannakopoulou

“A state budget that includes measures for the social state and the support of middle and low incomes was approved for the first time in eight years,” Administration Restructuring Minister Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou said in an interview on Monday with radio “News 24/7”.

The minister noted that the approval of the 2019 state budget by the European Commission was done outside the memorandum framework, something that signals a return to “eurozone normality” and also that “Greece is regaining the political framework and margins to implement the policy mix that the government wants”.

This gives the Greek government the opportunity to proceed with the implementation of all the measures it has announced, including that of no cuts to pensions, she added.
