“The Prespes agreement fuels FYROM irredentism and nationalism” warns George Koumoutsakos

“Those currently in power have played with a national issue and turned it into a petty party political disagreement,” claimed main opposition New Democracy (ND) shadow foreign minister George Koumoutsakos, referring to the Prespes Agreement at an event held on Tuesday evening at the Institute of Political Studies “Centre of Urban Reform”.

Koumoutsakos reiterated that his party will not vote for the Prespes Agreement, noting that “the Greek recognition supports FYROM’s irredentism and nationalism”.

Referring to Greek-Turkish relations, Koumoutsakos said that “the Turkish side is already violating the main principles of international law and we are reacting with respect for international law and international treaties”.
