The issue of Greek pension cuts won’t be discussed in the September 7 Eurogroup, official says

The Eurogroup meeting informally in Vienna on September 7 will not discuss the issue of Greek pension cuts, a high-level eurozone official said here on Friday.

He warned however that Greece needs to meet its obligations and to continue reforms.

Any discussion on the pension cuts, scheduled to kick in on January 1, is premature he said and noted that the first review of the Greek economy following the completion of the last fiscal adjustment will start on September 10. All issues will be discussed then, including pensions, a minimum wage raise and collective labor agreements, he added.
