Fire Brigade puts official toll of wildfires at 92 deaths; only 2 remain unidentified

The official death toll from wildfires in East Attica has reached 92, the Greek Fire Brigade announced on Wednesday.
In a press release the Fire Brigade said, “The number of deaths from the wildfire in East Attica totals 92 up to now. As recorded by the Hellenic Police’s Department of Criminal Investigations, the situtaion is as follows: There are 81 identified dead and 2 unidentified corpses for whom DNA samples exist but no relatives have come forward to claim them. Up to now, 9 people have died during hospitalization in Attica hospitals.”
