“We will use all diplomatic means to free the Greek officers” says government spokesman

“The government will continue to make use of all the means of political pressure, all diplomatic and legal options” to secure the release of two Greek soldiers held in Edirne since March without official charges, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Wednesday in an interview with ANT1 TV, following a Turkish court’s rejection of another petition for their release.

In terms of the economy, he noted that the government will have much more flexibility as regards the policies to follow after the end of the memoranda in August. He also said that there is a budgetary possibility for targeted tax relief and social support in 2019, since a permanent budgetary cushion of about 750 million is being set up.

Tzanakopoulos also reiterated that the government will complete its four-year term.
