“I believe in a Balkan future of progress, with no fear and nationalism” says Alexis Tsipras

“A round of progress is concluded and another round which is more promising opens,” Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said in joint statements with the prime ministers of Bulgaria Boiko Borisov, Romania Viorica Dancila and the president of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, after the end of the 4th quadrilateral meeting of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia on Wednesday evening in Thesssaloniki.

“I believe that we have in front of us a new, dynamic future provided that we have a vision for our region and dare to make step of progress even if these are sometimes against the tide,” Tsipras stated adding that “only with these steps we can lay the foundation for European and democratic Balkans that are not based on nationalism, fear, introversion or idleness but on co-evelopment and collaboration.”

As the Greek prime minister said, the four leaders underlined their support to the international law as the framework on which their cooperation and dialogue should be built.
