With the process of resolving the FYROM name issue at a critical juncture, the State Department reiterated its constant support for the talks while encouraging the leaders of the two countries to reach a mutually acceptable solution.

Responding to a question raised by the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), an official of the US Department of State reiterated the US standing position on the FYROM name issue.

The United States continue to support the ongoing talks under the auspices of the United Nations to resolve the issue of FYROM name, it said and added: We encourage the leaders of FYROM and Greece to find a mutually acceptable solution in the interests of Euro-Atlantic integration, economic prosperity, peace and security in the region.
