Telephone conversation between Alexis Tsipras and Zoran Zaev on the FYROM name dispute




Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras held a telephone conversation with his FYROM counterpart, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

According to a statement from the Greek premier’s office, the two men spoke cordially for about an hour. They are scheduled to speak by phone again on Tuesday morning, the statement said.

Earlier in the day, Tsipras had met with Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias to discuss negotiations between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to resolve the name issue. The meeting lasted about 90 minutes.
