PM Tsipras visited 135 Combat Group ‘readiness’ aircraft crews on Skyros

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Sunday visited the Hellenic Air Force’s 135 Combat Group on the island of Skyros, where he ascertained that the crews and technicians of the ‘readiness’ aircraft stationed there are fully prepared to carry out their mission.

He was accompanied by Defence Minister Panos Kammenos, while the head of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Christos Christodoulou was also present.

“We spoke with the pilots and technicians that are on constant standby to defend our sovereign rights,” Tsipras posted in a tweet afterwards, noting that he had decided to take advantage of his presence on the island (where he is spending the last weekend of carnival with his family) in order to carry out the visit.

The ‘readiness’ aircraft are on round-the-clock standby to defend Greece’s sovereign rights against any threats.
The prime minister spoke at length with the aircraft crews and technicians, as well as other personnel at the unit, congratulating them on their work and wishing them the best of strength in fulfilling their important mission.
