In the new digital era, there is room for more than 1,300 radio stations, Pappas says

“A lot has been done in a few months and more will be done in the next months,” Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Information Minister Nikos Pappas said on Sunday with an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency regarding the television licenses and the regulation of the television landscape.

The minister stressed that the TV channels will now operate in a transparent way and will ensure full-time jobs and even high-level facilities.

Pappas also stressed the important issue of the transition to digital radio adding that in 2018 the entire broadcasting sector is becoming legal.

“With the transition to the digital age, which will be carried out gradually, the radio concept will totally change, the services will be upgraded and the radiation will be reduced,” Pappas noted.

“In the new digital era, there is room for more than 1,300 radio stations,” the minister underlined.
