PM Tsipras in Istanbul, attends Greek-Turkish football match with Davutoglu




Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras started his visit to Turkey on Tuesday evening by attending a friendly football match between the two country’s teams, along with Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul.

During his visit, the premier will meet with members of the country’s political leadership to discuss the main topic of his agenda, the refugee crisis. On Wednesday at 08.00 (local time), Tsipras will meet with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Patriarchate and in the afternoon he will fly to Ankara where he will have a meet with Davutoglu at noon. A working lunch and a joint press conference of the two leaders will follow.

It is yet unknown what time Tsipras will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
