The European Union officially launched the preparatory work towards the opening of accession negotiations in June 2019 with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Albania, when Johannes Hahn, commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, met with officials in Skope and Tirana on Tuesday.
