Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to speak at Chios conference on climate change

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is arriving at the port of Chios on Thursday in order to attend and speak at a conference dedicated to climate change, organised by the North Aegean Region as part of the 3rd Chios festival.
The Patriarch is to be welcomed by the regional governor of the North Aegean, Konstantinos Moutzouris, together with representatives of the political and military authorities of the place, with head of state honours.
On Friday, the Ecumenical Patriarch will visit the Regional Unit of Chios, where at a special meeting of the Regional Council he will be presented with a commemorative gift by the regional governor.
The conference is scheduled on Friday afternoon, with the speakers including, apart from the Patriarch, the former President of the Hellenic Republic, Professor Prokopis Pavlopoulos, and the Secretary General of the Academy of Athens, Christos Zerefos.
It will be followed by a visit to the Library of the Holy Diocese of Chios, Psara and Oinoussa “AGIOS AGAPITOS” where the Ecumenical Patriarch will be declared an honorary president of the Library.
