Police arrest one man, bring in two for questioning during checks for soccer final

Two young men were brought in for questioning by police during police checks for the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday afternoon.

The two were found at the Rizoupoli bridge wearing full face balaclavas. Rizoupoli is close to Nea Filadelphia, where the final soccer game between Olympiacos and Fiorentina was scheduled to start at 22:00. Police have cordoned off the OPAP arena for the game, and introduced stringent security measures, which include special passes for residents of the area and checking of police IDs and tickets before the game.

Earlier in the day, police had brought in and then arrested a 48-year-old man who carried a knife. He was located near the OPAP arena and carried two keychains, one with a motto against Olympiacos, one of AEK, while he also had an AEK tattoo.
