Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed that the economy is the government top priority while speaking at a gathering of citizens in Agia Paraskevi on Wednesday, pointing out that “if it does not perform well, then there is no money for social policy, health, education, defence and security.”
The prime minister noted that the burden that the government is carrying is very big, adding that “we will honour the people’s trust by working even harder and addressing the major and minor issues that essentially make up each Greek’s everyday life”.
He referred to his visit earlier on Wednesday to the Demokritos National Centre for Scientific Research speaking of the “huge interest that exists for significant investments in the field of innovation”. At the same time, he said that he had met many young people who decided to leave well-paid jobs abroad and come to work in Greek startups, “certifying in their own way that, despite the difficulties we are facing, the Greek economy is now in a sustainable path of growth.”
Mitsotakis spoke of the changes in the sector of health, saying that every day the government is moving in the right direction and referred to the Ministerial Decree regulating the way that the uniform and digital lists for surgeries are drawn up in public hospitals.
Finally, he referred to the problem of high prices and of public order, as well as to the strengthening of the Armed Forces, stating that the government remains focused on the implementation of its programme.
