Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis chaired on Wednesday the last cabinet meeting for 2023 at the Maximos Mansion.

“We are leaving behind a year with many and complex challenges, but also a year with signifant conquests, including the acquisition of the investment grade rating. A circle of crises is closing and I believe that the way of the stable and sustainable growth opens,” Mitsotakis said addressing the cabinet.

The premier referred to the bill of the Education Ministry, saying that it will constitute a historic reform in the sector of education and particularly the higher education.

“We are further strengthening the public university and in parallel we are creating a framework that will allow non profitable, non-public higher education institutes operate in Greece. The bill that will be presented by the Education Minister in the near future gives the opportunity to Greece to become an attraction centre for students from abroad and offer the opportunity to over 40,000 young people that every year leave their country to study abroad, to study and work in Greece.

Mitsotakis also referred to the establishment of the National Trauma System to the National Health System.

Regarding sports violence, he said that Alternate Sports Minister will have the opportunity to present the government’s comprehensive plan.

Concluding, Mitsotakis expressed his satisfaction over the EU agreement on the asylum and migration.
