Ruling New Democracy has recorded a landslide victory against leftist SYRIZA in the Greek national elections, as the initial exit poll figures were confirmed by the official results.

With 77,56 % of the electoral divisions integrated Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s party garnered 40.80% of the votes, a percentage that is more than double that of SYRIZA whose percentages collapse to 20.06%.

The third electoral force is the PASOK/Change Movement with a percentage of 11.74%, followed by the KKE at 7.13% and the Hellenic Solution at 4.48%.

The president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, congratulated ND leader Kyrikos Mitsotakis on his party’s win in the elections in a phone call.
