An amendment that bans parties whose leaders have been convicted of crimes from running in the elections was passed late on Wednesday in parliament.

Ruling New Democracy (ND) and the PASOK-KINAL parties voted in favour of the amendment of the interior ministry.ou

Main opposition SYRIZA voted “present” while KKE, Elliniki Lysi and Mera25 voted against the amendment.
