The yield on the 10-year Greek government bond fell below 1 pct Friday, according to the website investing.com.

Specifically, it fell to 0.99 pct from 1.02 pct yesterday, while the yield on the 5-year bond decreased to 0.27 pct from 0.28 pct.

According to Reuters, yields on eurozone bonds generally fell on Friday on the news that US President Donald Trump tested positive to the novel coronavirus. This increased the uncertainty about the upcoming US elections in November, which had recently raised interest in bonds.

Bonds were also boosted by concerns about the impact of a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy as eurozone inflation fell to -0.3 pct, the lowest level in four years, according to Eurostat’s preliminary data.

The yield on Italian 10-year bonds fell to a record low of 0.735 pct on Friday, according to Tradeweb, while the yield on German 10-year bonds fell to -0.551 pct at the beginning of the session.
