8 new coronavirus cases registered in Greece on Wednesday: No fatalities since Saturday

Greece registered 8 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours and no fatalities sinceSaturday, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported on Wednesday.

The total number of cases is 3,310, of whom 55 pct are men. Of the total, 730 are people who were infected abroad and 1,848 were infected by already known cases.

Eight Greeks are intubated in hospitals, of whom 7 are men, and the average age of all ICU patients is 61 years. A 75 pct suffers from underlying conditions and/or is aged 70 or over.
Another 118 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the outbreak.

The deaths total stands at 190. The median age of all the deceased was 76 years and 60 of them were women. A total of 95.8 pct suffered from an underlying health condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

Some 295,639 diagnostic tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in Greece since January 1, of which 5,367 (1.8 pct) were positive. The total numbers include repeat tests for individuals.
