Nikos Kotzias participates in the Forum of Ancient Civilizations, completes UN meetings

Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias completed his meetings in the framework of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly with the meeting of the Forum of Ancient Civilizations.

The foreign ministers participating in the forum are meeting for the second consecutive year on the sidelines of the ministerial week. More countries, such as Peru, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Armenia and, of course, presiding Bolivia, were represented at ministerial level.

They all agreed on the willingness to develop specific mechanisms to promote the activities of the Forum. In particular, Member States have agreed to intensify their cooperation with UNESCO, with the key priority being to protect cultural heritage and cultural goods. The current presidency will host the academic forum on December 20-21 in Bolivia following the April 2017 meeting in Athens.
