Greece has run a Marathon; now it is on the final stretch, German Ambassador to Greece says

German Ambassador to Greece Jens Ploetner in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) expressed his content over the conclusion of the third programme review adding that it was probably the smoothest review we have ever had.

“We have good news. Some hours ago the third review was closed, it took a bit longer than all hoped, but this was not because the government was not pushing ahead, these were reasons which were out of control of the government. So I think this review was probably the smoothest we have ever had, the institutions had as far as I know very good cooperation, truthful cooperation with the Greek government,” he said.

Ploetner said that it was the first time he had the pleasure of being in Delphi and he was very impressed. “There are very many important people, there are very many interesting people and, subsequently, there are a lot of good discussions about how we can move ahead in Europe, about what role Greece can play in the development of Europe, but also discussions about where Europe stands in the world today.”
