Bank of Greece: State budget showed primary surplus of 2.7 billion euros on a cash basis in January




The Greek state budget showed a primary surplus of 2.7 billion euros on a cash basis in January, the Bank of Greece said on Friday.

In a report, the central bank said that the state budget had showed a surplus of 248 million euros in January 2017 and attributed this year’s development to an increase in regular budget revenue to 4.158 billion euros, from 3.694 billion euros in January 2017. Regular budget spending amounted to 3.043 billion euros in January from 3.191 billion in the same month last year.

In January, the central administration’s cash result showed a surplus of 1.098 billion euros, from a surplus of 183 million in the same month last year.
