French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed on Friday Greece’s recovery and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ work in implementing reforms, during a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Brussels.
“I welcome Greece’s recovery and the reforms taken by Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras,” he said after the meeting, adding that the last Eurogroup reached a “very strong framework of consensus.”
He also said the summit didn’t discuss Greece today, and that “is a good thing” because he and Merkel worked hard to reach an agreement at the Eurogroup.
On her side, Merkel also said that they EU leaders didn’t discuss Greece because “solutions have been found”, noting that the “Juncker package” will strengthen investments.
