Η Ιταλία αποφάσισε την υιοθέτηση ενισχυμένων μέτρων ασφαλείας μετά τις πολυαίμακτες τρομοκρατικές επιθέσεις που σημειώθηκαν στο Παρίσι, ενόψει και των εορτών των Χριστουγέννων και της Πρωτοχρονιάς κατά τις οποίες η χώρα δέχεται σημαντικό αριθμό τουριστών. Ο Ιταλός πρωθυπουργός Ματέο Ρέντσι, είπε ότι δεν θα πρέπει να υποτιμάται ο κίνδυνος για περαιτέρω θανατηφόρες επιθέσεις.
