New Democracy’s Vasilis Kikilias on PM’s speech: Alexis Tsipras returns to the scene of the crime

“Mr. Tsipras returned to the scene of the crime,” New Democracy (ND) shadow defence minister Vassilis Kikilias asserted on Monday, referring to the speech and press conference given by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) over the weekend. It was in Thessaloniki that Tsipras had announced the tearing up of the memoranda and the reduction of ENFIA (Real estate ownership tax), Kikilias pointed out.

On the implementation of the relief measures announced by Tsipras at TIF, Kikilias clarified that “when we look at what they are really all about, whether they can be applied in the budget that he will submit, whether they are realistic and how much they cost, then we will see which of them can be implemented and which cannot.”

Finally, he said that Tsipras did not say anything about investments in his speech at TIF, adding that without investments there will be no new jobs, GDP will not increase and when the time comes for general elections there will be empty coffers and a grim image of the country”.
