Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke on Friday spoke on the phone with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two top officials discussed the prospects of deepening bilateral relations on the basis of the strategic partnership, which they adopted in a Joint Statement during the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Athens in August 2023, as well as the further strengthening of cooperation, particularly in the field of investments.
According to the Prime Minister’s Press Office, Mitsotakis informed Modi of Greece’s intention to open two more consulates in India in the near future: in Mumbai and Bangalore.
The two countries also discussed cooperation between the two countries in the context of Greece’s term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2025-2026.
