Amendment for Greece-Cyprus electrical interconnection passed in Parliament




The bill of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance “New Development Programme of Public Investments” was passed on Friday in a plenary session of the Parliament.

Ruling New Democracy voted in favour of the bill in principle, while all the opposition parties voted against it, except for the ‘Spartiates’ party, which abstained.

The bill included the amendment for the electrical interconnection between Greece and Cyprus, which was voted for by New Democracy, PASOK, and Greek Solution (Elliniki Lysi). SYRIZA, New Left (Nea Aristera) and Spartiates abstained, while the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) together with NIKI and Plefsi Eleftherias voted against.
