Fire erupts at Motor Oil refinery in Corinth

A fire broke out at the Motor Oil facilities in Agioi Theodoroi, Corinth late Tuesday afternoon. Firefighting teams from the refinery are on the scene, supported by 35 firefighters with 11 vehicles. Reinforcements are continually arriving and three helicopters are on standby for preventive measures in case the fire spreads.

Residents in the area have been advised to evacuate through a warning issued by 112 due to the fire.

Motor Oil is a Greek multinational energy group founded in 1972. It operates one of the most complex oil refineries in Europe with a capacity exceeding 200,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The company is a leading supplier and trader of fuels in Southeastern Europe and manages a network of fueling stations in Greece, Cyprus, and the Western Balkans. Additionally, Motor Oil has a significant presence in the power sector in Greece and the broader region.
