Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday reiterated his government’s “commitment to substantial and practical support for families with young children”, during his visit to “Argentios Children’s House” nursery school in the Athens district of Thissio, which has joined the preschool education and creative employment programme, with funding from the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family with national and European resources. He also announced that he will unfold the aspects of a multifaceted policy to deal with the demographic problem at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).

Mitsotakis, who was  accompanied by the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zaharaki, was given a tour of the premises of the nursery school and had the opportunity to talk with the children and staff at the school.
The prime minister reiterated that he attaches great weight and importance to the programmes for early identification and diagnosis of possible learning difficulties. “Such problems can be much more easily detected by a well-trained staff in daycare centers. It is a new programme that we will launch so that these children who are facing such difficulties can be identified as quickly as possible, because we know that timely, early intervention greatly increases the chances that these children will subsequently have a completely normal course and a normal life,” he said.
