Unemployment rate at 9.9% in July, ELSTAT says: Below 10% for the second consecutive month

The unemployment rate stood at 9.9% in July, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). In the corresponding month of 2023, unemployment was at 11.1% and was revised down to 9.5% last June.

It is worth noting that the unemployment rate remains below 10% for the second consecutive month.
According to ELSTAT data:

– The employed amounted to 4,229,548 people, marking an increase of 26,303 people compared to July 2023 (0.6%) and a decrease of 46,286 people compared to June 2024 (-1.1%).

– The unemployed reached 465,167 people, marking a decrease of 62,204 people compared to July 2023 (-11.8%) and an increase of 16,728 people compared to June 2024 (3.7%).
