Greek Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis is meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday evening Greek time.

Gerapetritis, who is in New York, will meet with the UN head at 11:15 pm (Greek time) and make statements to the press around 11:45 pm, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

Following this, Gerapetritis will attend a high-level event at the UN headquarters with fellow FMs of the other four candidate countries – Denmark, Pakistan, Panama and Somalia – running for the non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council (2025-2026). The FM will attend the election that starts at 5:00 pm (Greek time) on Thursday at the UN General Assembly hall.

He will make statements to the Greek and foreign press following the announcement of the results, the ministry said.
