HelleniQ Energy and Chevron submit joint offer for offshore hydrocarbon exploration south of Greece

In response to the relevant Call for Tenders, published by the Ministry of Environment & Energy (Government Gazette 2104/30.04.2025), for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the four offshore areas south of Peloponnese and south of Crete, HelleniQ Energy announces that it has partnered with Chevron to participate in the said tender.

The offer was submitted on Wednesday as per tender rules.This participation complements and consolidates the HelleniQ Energy’s exploration & production activities in the area, while for Chevron this is a new country entry.

The Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou, emphasised that the consortium of Chevron and HelleniQ Energy has announced its participation in the international tender for the four offshore blocks located south of Crete and the Peloponnese .He emphasised that this collaboration marks a new chapter in the utilisation of Greece’s undersea energy resources, which, establishes a robust foundation for the country’s energy self-sufficiency and leverages its geopolitical significance in the Eastern Mediterranean. Papastavrou said that Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ government is fulfilling its commitments to make Greece energy-secure, attractive to investors, and geopolitically strong. It should be noted that the tender for the four blocks south of Crete and the Peloponnese began after Chevron expressed interest.
