Samos among the best destinations in Europe, according to Scandinavian media

The uniqueness of Samos as an “antidote” to overtourism is highlighted by many tourism and news outlets in, encouraging hundreds of thousands of travelers to choose quality in their vacations instead of the mass tourism of well-known resort areas.

The online newspaper Abc Nyheter ranks the island of Pythagoras among the best destinations in Southern Europe, describing it as “a journey to authentic Greece.”

As the Norwegian online newspaper noted , “Samos is the birthplace of the great philosopher Pythagoras and is considered the most fertile island in Greece, a fact that leads to the production of olives and wine of exceptional quality. The beautiful island can entice you with its countless enchanting beaches and picturesque fishing villages. It also has a fascinating past, offering the possibility of an impressive journey into history between sunbathing and swimming in exotic waters.”

The Abc Nyheter list concludes with regions from Portugal, Italy, Greece, and Albania. It is noted that there is strong interest in promoting Samos and its thematic aspects in markets such as the Netherlands, Italy, Scandinavia, Germany, and the UK, as part of initiatives by the Municipalities of eastern and western Samos in coordination with organisations such as the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) offices.

In the same spirit, the Swedish travel website First Class Magazine calls Samos “the green island with a rich history and a tradition in winemaking” and includes it in its annual list of the “ten best Greek islands we love.”
