Thanos Plevris to take over as new migration and asylum minister

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has decided to appoint Thanos Plevris as minister of migration and asylum, government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis announced on Saturday.

The prime minister has also selected Harry Theoharis for the post of deputy foreign minister, Yiannis Andrianos as deputy rural development and foods minister and Christos Dermentzopoulos as the deputy minister of digital governance.
The new minister and deputy ministers will be sworn in on Monday at 10:00, in the presence of President of the Hellenic Republic Constantine Tassoulas.
A cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will then take place at the Maximos Mansion at noon.
