President receives Archbishop of Sinai to discuss developments concerning the Monastery of St. Catherine
President of the Hellenic Republic Constantine Tassoulas on Tuesday received the Archbishop Damianos of Sinai, Pharan and Raithu, the abbot of the Holy Monastery of St. Catherine at Mount Sinai, to discuss the developments concerning the monastery.
Archbishop Damianos extended an invitation to the president to attend the feast day of Holy Monastery of St. Catherine at Mount Sinai at the end of the year and thanked the Greek state for its support.
He also assured President Tassoulas that he will do his utmost to defend the monastery’s rights and conveyed his gratitude toward the Greek people for their expressions of support.
The meeting was attended by the monastery’s legal counsel, the lawyer Christos Kobiliris, the monastery’s press spokesperson, Archmandrite Porfyrios, and its secretary, Aikaterini Spyropoulou.
